Welcome

Thank you for showing an interest in Jet2.com and our Future Second Officer Programme.

Now is an exciting time to be taking your first step into the flight deck of our Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Our Programme is about supporting that transition through personal development, growth and a full immersion into our business.

During your Jet2.com Brand Discovery phase, we will invite you to our headquarters in Leeds to find out what makes our customers choose to fly with us on their well-deserved holidays. Meeting our head-office and operational teams, you will understand how we plan, market, sell and deliver our flight and holiday programme.

During the Jet2.com In-flight Discovery phase, you will train and operate as Cabin Crew to understand and deliver our VIP customer service as well as meet our customers. It's one step closer to the flight deck!

The Jet2.com Ground Discovery Phase is all about meeting and working with the teams delivering our renowned service at the airport. You'll spend time with our famous Red Team and the Customer Helpers who welcome our customers and make our airports run smoothly. Let's not forget 'Back of House'. You'll be right there with them in the Flight Deck during departures and turnarounds, learning how we dispatch our aircraft and seeing how we all Work as One Team to make sure our flights take-off safely and on-time.

In your final weeks on the Programme, you will spend time in our Crew Rooms meeting Captains, First Officers, Trainers and Base Management teams. You will observe briefings, fly on jumpseats and start to see how we operate in base. You will also meet many other service partners that help the operation run smoothly, such as our Engineers, ATC and the Fire Service to name a few, and to enhance your learning, we will schedule a Simulator refresher to keep you flying high.

We believe that a full understanding of our Company is a huge advantage to new Pilots embarking on a career with Jet2.com. We invest in developing your knowledge and relationship with the whole company and believe that you are our future Captains, Trainers and Managers.

As well as excellent technical and flying ability, we want you to commit to Jet2.com as a career airline and embrace the ethos and values of our Company. We are looking for people with strong interpersonal and customer service skills, who can demonstrate initiative and work as part of one team. Take some time to learn about our Company online and understand how we create memories for our customers. If you feel you can make a positive contribution, we would very much like to hear from you.

We are now accepting applications

The recruitment window for Future Second Officers is open, and we are accepting applications.

Joining the Future Second Officer programme

Becoming a Future Second Officer is not just about becoming a commercial Pilot, as those who join our programme are considered future leaders of our business.

From those who apply, only approximately 3% are successful in joining, demonstrating the high quality of individuals we look to recruit.

The assessment process is multi-layered, consisting of personality and aptitude assessments, video and face-to-face interviews, group exercises, and simulator assessments.

All these components are designed to identify the most suitable candidates. Once successful, our Future Second Officers begin their 20-week programme.

The scheme gives you a great understanding of the "bigger picture" Operations of the Airline industry. You learn things that will stay with you throughout your career as a pilot and will help mould you into a great Commander. Even in this early stage of my flying career, I already find myself explaining certain areas of the day to day operations of the company to experienced captains. - Matt
Spending time with and getting to know everyone else's roles during the Scheme - from Check in, Boarding, Ground Handling, Crewing and Operations to Cabin Crew - has really broadened my understanding of the day to day operations of the airline. - Aaron
A fantastic scheme that allows you to explore the company and really get to know the people you will be working with. An opportunity for Ab-Initio Pilots who have very little experience of Airline Operation - it really boosts your confidence when you walk through the door ready for your first flight!

I wouldn't want to start a flying career straight out of flying school without doing this first - invaluable. - Louise
Spending time in the Engineering hangar at Leeds was a particular highlight of the programme for me. We managed to get our hands dirty and worked alongside the Engineers which was a great experience! We also got to walk around the aircraft in slow time and look at the aircraft from a technical point of view which was a great learning experience and something most pilots don't get the chance to do." - Kris
