At Jet2.com and Jet2holidays we hold assessment centres when recruiting volume roles such as Pilots, Cabin Crew and Ground Operations Teams. The format of the day includes Welcome and Introductions, a presentation by the General Manager from the business area, Verbal and Numerical Reasoning Tests, Group Exercises and a Competency based interview. What aircraft do we operate?
Our fleet is made up of B737-300, B737-800 and B757-200 aircraft.
What can I expect on the day?
Your Assessment Day will involve a Company Presentation and several exercises including a Group Exercise and 1:1 interview.
Our team of Management Pilots and dedicated Recruitment Team will also be on hand throughout the day to answer any other questions you may have.
You will be required to bring the following original documents on the day of the Assessment Centre as well as a copy for our records.
• Application Form
• A Valid Passport
• Drivers licence including both photo and paper counterpart
• National Insurance proof (NI card or P45, P46, P60 only)
• Class 1 Medical Certificate
• Pilots Licence – Due to changes in EASA regulations, pilots holding a licence issued outside the UK will be required to convert to a UK issued EASA licence
• Log Book
• Copy of most recent Licence Proficiency Check
• MCC/JOC Certificate (If relevant)
• Proof of LVO Qualification (If relevant)

How do I know if I have been successful?
You will be contacted by a member of the Recruitment Team to advise you whether you have been successful or not.
If you are successful the following activities will be part of your Ground School Training which is scheduled to last up to 14 days:
• Meet and Greet
• Management Brief/Induction
• Operations/Crewing Brief
• Safety Brief
• Operational Flight Plan Brief
• Travel Services Brief
• Loading (Fleet specific)
• Technical (only for Type Rated Joiners)
• SEP/Manual Handling/First Aid
• Security and Dangerous Goods
• Wet Drill
• Performance & SOPs
• CRM (Crew Resource Management)
• Fire, Smoke, Doors and Slides check
• Take Me There training
Non Type Rated Colleagues and Ab-Initios will go on to complete a full type rating course through a certified training provider. Next steps include Technical Ground School + simulator phase at the course provider’s location and finally, a License Skills Test (LST).
For Type Rated Colleagues they will complete the above detailed Ground School as well as appropriate operator conversion course training in the simulator and a 2 day license/operator proficiency check.
All joiners will undergo Line Training to consist of 10-40 sectors dependant on experience.
What happens when you apply?
Once you have applied online you will automatically receive two online assessments (one verbal and one numerical) to complete. These will be sent to you with your application confirmation e-mail and will be visible on the front page of your candidate profile.
If you have demonstrated the right skills and experience on your CV and passed both the verbal and numerical assessments you may then be invited to the next stage which is a video interview. This will give you an opportunity to present yourself to us. The video interview is designed for you to complete at a time and place that suits you. The only things you will need are a laptop/computer, an internet connection, and a webcam and microphone.
We will then evaluate your answers and if successful at this stage we will be contacting you by telephone to book you on to one of our Cabin Crew Assessment Days.
What happens on the day?
The day will include group and individual exercises and if successful a 1:1 interview to evaluate your suitability for a position as Jet2.com Cabin Crew. You will also have the opportunity to find out more about life as a Cabin Crew colleague at Jet2.com including a question and answer session with our Crew!
The exercises are arranged to give you the opportunity to demonstrate how you work alone and as part of a team, along with the current skills you have and development potential.
If you have not been successful during the morning session which includes the company presentation and group exercises to demonstrate your team working skills, you will be able to leave at lunchtime.
If you have been successful, you will be invited to stay for a 1:1 competency based interview during the afternoon session.
• 4 Passport sized photographs
• Your Passport and 3 copies (inside front cover, photo page and inside back page). Please note your passport should be valid and with 6 months left before expiry. It should also be in your full legal name.
• Please note: If you hold a non-EU Passport you must also bring with you your Visa and 3 copies
• Proof of your current address and 2 copies (a utility bill or bank statement addressed to you at your current address)
• Proof of National Insurance and 2 copies (Your NI card, P45 or P60 – we cannot accept wage/pay slips)
• Proof of your date of birth (an official document such as your Birth Certificate, Passport or Driving Licence) and two copies.
• Completed Airside Reference Form (5 year history – which will be attached in your invite)
• A pen and notepad if you would like to make notes throughout the day
Unfortunately lunch will not be provided, so we would suggest that you bring your lunch with you.
N.B. Should you be successful during the Assessment Day, copies of these documents will be taken and retained.
Upon arrival please report to reception at least 30 minutes before the start of the day, where your paperwork containing the above items will be checked by a member of the Cabin Crew Team.
The day is relatively informal and we encourage you to try to relax and enjoy the day, not forgetting you are being observed at all times. Feedback from assessors on the day will be taken into account when deciding if you have been successful in securing a place on the 4 week Initial Training Programme.
Dress code for the day is smart business attire.
How do I know I have been successful?
You will receive a telephone call or an e-mail advising you on the outcome of the Assessment Day from our Recruitment Team.
What about my training?
For roles based at Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle the training is done in conjunction with Newcastle Aviation Academy and you will be based in Newcastle for the duration of the training, For roles based at Blackpool, East Midlands, Leeds and Manchester your training will be carried out by our own Jet2.com Training Academy and you will be based in Leeds for the duration of the training. Training for Alicante based roles will take place in Alicante.
During the intensive 4 week training course, all successful candidates will be provided with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure that they are equipped to deal efficiently with different types of emergency and survival situations including theoretical and practical instruction.
Each delegate must successfully complete this training prior to becoming employed by Jet2.com and be qualified as operational Cabin Crew. During the course you will undergo checks and examinations covering both safety and cabin service training received in order to verify proficiency in carrying out all on board duties.
You will be responsible for arranging your own accommodation during this course and you will not be paid for the duration of the course until you have successfully graduated.
The cost of the course is £700 and in return we offer you superb training, a Summer Contract and good company benefits including a great Staff Travel Scheme.
*The £700 course fee will be made payable to The Aviation Academy or Jet2.com depending on your chosen base. You must make the payment immediately following confirmation from us that you have been successful to secure your place on the course.
Once you have successfully completed your course, it's time to celebrate with your class mates and families as you graduate and receive your Wings! A night to remember for all!
You will be automatically issued a Verbal and a Numerical reasoning test, once completed we will contact you to let you know if we would like to invite you to a Telephone Interview. If you successfully pass the Telephone Interview you will then be invited to attend one of our Assessment Days.
On arrival at the Assessment Day, you will be greeted by members of the Jet2.com team who will check through your documentation listed below.
We will introduce you to the business which will include a video showing our colleagues in action at some of our bases and you will even have the opportunity to try on our uniform!
You will then be spilt into groups where you will undertake a Group Exercise and then a 1:1 competency based interview.
Our Team will be on hand to answer any questions that you may have about life on the ground at Jet2.com throughout the day.
You will also have the opportunity to tell us how you thought the day went and if there is anything we could do to improve your experience. What about my training?
Jet2.com provides specialist and detailed training for all of our Ground Operations Teams.
All of our new colleagues will have an initial two week training course, which will be a combination of classroom and on the job training. You will then have the support of our dedicated Trainers and Supervisors who will be there to help you through your probation period and with your ongoing development in the business.
